In our own words…
The Irish Centre is Nottingham’s clubbing equivalent of marmite, you either love it or you hate it and be warned there is no middle ground with The Irish. Bringing back memories of Church or school discos, the design is unique to say the least, with a lot of wood and open spaces and minimal decor.
What is does offer is a very relaxed door policy with regards to dress code and groups (and how much you have already had!) and a large dance floor with room to throw yourself around in. It is also, to be blunt, well known as a meat market!

In our own words…
Reflex night club in Nottingham is as 80’s inspired as you’d expect from such a name and when you see the neon sign outside any doubts as to the kind of night you are in for will soon be forgotten. Once you step inside you will wonder what happened to the past 20 years or so as you see a dance floor last seen in a 80s Only Fools and Horses Christmas special!
If you want to spend your night standing by the bar posing, dancing to ’serious’ dance music or being ’seen’, then avoid this place like the plague. If you want a night out to let your hair down with a group of friends and just have a good time then seriously consider Reflex as your final destination for the night. A good combo when you throw in a visit to Flares in Nottingham too.

In our own words…
The Castle Pub in Nottingham can be found directly opposite the entrance to Nottingham castle and is a popular venue for after work drinkers, especially on a Friday evening. The seating area outside makes for a pleasant urban drink on a summer’s evening after work, on a Saturday afternoon or at night over the weekend!
The Castle Pub does not try to break any new ground, serving the usual range of lagers, bitters and wine you would expect at most pubs as well as the traditional pub meal fare. What it does offer is plenty of room inside and outside to enjoy your drink, in a friendly but lively atmosphere. It also acts as a great stop off point after Ye Old Trip to Jerusalem as you work your way in to Nottingham city centre on your way to more Nottingham bars.
It’s not a final venue or somewhere you stay for more than a couple of drinks, but as a stopping off point or a getting warmed up there are few better.

“In 25 years, Nottingham has transformed itself into one of the country’s finest cities for live music, and it’s no exaggeration to say Rock City has been a main factor in that progression. Scores of venues have popped up in its wake, and they all have their own particular charm and offer to the city. ‘City’ did it first and did it best. Show us someone from Notts under the age of 60 who has never stepped through the doors of Rock City, and we’ll show you someone who’s had a wasted life.”

“Part of the national J D Wetherspoon chain of pubs, this is in a great location just off the City’s market square. Only a short walk away from numerous others bars and pubs, the cheap drinks and food are a magnet for many drinkers.
With little or no door policy in place, no matter what you are wearing or how many of you there are, a few cheap drinks here are always on the cards.
Not a venue to stay for too long, but a good choice to get warmed up.”

“Part of the famous US chain of bars, Nottingham’s Hooters is the first choice for many drinkers wanting to watch live sport thanks to the number of screens available. It is also very popular with stag do’s and birthday groups thanks to the table service and the peoplee serving those table!
It isn’t the cheapest plaace to go and it’s location outside of the centre doesn’t lend itself to being part of the main night out, but it serves as a great starting point if their is a group of you, especially if you want some food to line the stomach as well.”

“Located on the bank of Nottingham’s canal, the Canal House is part of a small complex of pubs and bars based around the canal.
During the summer it is one of the busiest areas of Nottingham and one of the best places to go for the start of a night out or to grab a relaxing drink and maybe a bite to eat too. To get a seat on warm days getting there early is recommended.
It also serves as a very popular starting point for stag and hen parties during the wedding build up season!”
