In our own words…
“Every city and town has at least on pub like this, and here is Nottingham’s! Aimed at the late teens/ early 20’s and the 35 years+ crowd trying to recapture their youth, the first thing that will hit you when you enter The Square is the noise; this is not a venue to go to be sociable with friends.
Spread out over two levels, lager and shots are par for the course along with large groups on the look out for a meat market. This venue is a good spring board to a heavy night out but not if you are after a few chilled out drinks with some friends!”

In our own words…
The Irish Centre is Nottingham’s clubbing equivalent of marmite, you either love it or you hate it and be warned there is no middle ground with The Irish. Bringing back memories of Church or school discos, the design is unique to say the least, with a lot of wood and open spaces and minimal decor.
What is does offer is a very relaxed door policy with regards to dress code and groups (and how much you have already had!) and a large dance floor with room to throw yourself around in. It is also, to be blunt, well known as a meat market!

In our own words…
Part of the national chain of pubs, this is bang in the centre of Nottingham opposite Tantra night club and only a short walk from the Hockley area which contains many more bars. There is nothing at the Nottingham Hogs Head you wouldn’t expect with the usual lagers, pub food and a bit of pool.
Probably more suited to a few drinks during the day than night time drinking, although a worthy pit stop if you are making your way across town.

In our own words…
Yates Wine Lodge has been around for years and you know what you are going to get; cheap drinks, large groups and a DJ in the corner. On the edge of Nottingham’s market square, Yates is a great starting point for a night out and somewhere you can settle down for a few drinks before you start move on to the next venue. Not a great place to take someone for a first date, but if you are part of a group it is an ideal venue.

In their own words…
“In 25 years, Nottingham has transformed itself into one of the country’s finest cities for live music, and it’s no exaggeration to say Rock City has been a main factor in that progression. Scores of venues have popped up in its wake, and they all have their own particular charm and offer to the city. ‘City’ did it first and did it best. Show us someone from Notts under the age of 60 who has never stepped through the doors of Rock City, and we’ll show you someone who’s had a wasted life.”

In our own words…
“Part of the JD Wetherspoon owned chain targeting a younger crowd with more spirits and louder music this bar is based in the popular Hockley area of Nottingham.
Surrounded by other bars and clubs, making this a good starting point at the start of the evening.
Lloyds gets very busy on the weekend with large queues forming at popular times on a Friday and Saturday night. Big crowds may struggle to get in and expect to have to queue for your drink once you are in.”
