“Part of the national J D Wetherspoon chain of pubs, this is in a great location just off the City’s market square. Only a short walk away from numerous others bars and pubs, the cheap drinks and food are a magnet for many drinkers.

With little or no door policy in place, no matter what you are wearing or how many of you there are, a few cheap drinks here are always on the cards.

Not a venue to stay for too long, but a good choice to get warmed up.”

“Part of the national Walkabout chain, Nottingham’s Walkabout is perfect for watching sport (Football or Rugby) and for large groups, especially stag parties.

There is nothing fancy about what Walkabout offers; cheap lager with lots of space for groups to get the night started.”

“The Pit & Pendulum is a popular haunt for the darker side of Nottingham’s drinkers. If you wear a lot of black, have long hair and listen to any type of music with the word ‘metal’ in it you will find yourself at home in the Pit & Pendulum.

On the flip side, it is probably best avoided if you have got yourself togged out in trousers, shirt and shoes or your best dress, however if you want to go out for some drinks with friends in an open atmosphere with out feeling like you have been shoe-horned in to a sardine tin, you could do worse than the Pit & Pendulum.”

“Part of the famous US chain of bars, Nottingham’s Hooters is the first choice for many drinkers wanting to watch live sport thanks to the number of screens available. It is also very popular with stag do’s and birthday groups thanks to the table service and the peoplee serving those table!

It isn’t the cheapest plaace to go and it’s location outside of the centre doesn’t lend itself to being part of the main night out, but it serves as a great starting point if their is a group of you, especially if you want some food to line the stomach as well.”

“Housed in a deconsecrated church, P&P has become the party landmark of Nottingham. Setting and atmosphere come alive on the weekend and any size of or type of event can be catered for to create the ultimate night out.

The bar’s party feel is enhanced by its adaptability. Private party areas range from cosy ‘Snug area’ overlooking the whole church, to favourite weekend spot the ‘Altar area’ that looks out over the dance floor. Up to 200 private guests can be accommodated upstairs, groups of 12 in our booths or we can arrange sit down meals for groups.”
